Past Aotearoa New Zealand WSA Winners

New Zealand continued history by providing winning entries to the 2009 Global WSA contest. New Zealand had three winners in the e-Entertainment & Games, e-Government & Institutions and e-Learning & Education sections.

In 2007, New Zealand had two winners in the e-Science & Technology and e-Culture & Heritage sections. As well as three special mentions in the e-Entertainment & Games, e-Health & Environment and e-Inclusion & Participation sections. The Pacific also participated with Fiji winning an award for their entry in the e-Culture & Heritage section.

Again New Zealand's submissions did extremely well in 2005. The finalists were evaluated with entrants from 196 other countries by the WSA 2005 Grand Jury in Bahrain. New Zealand received Special Mentions in the e-Business & Commerce and e-Entertainment & Games sections for two of the eights projects submitted.

In 2003, eight New Zealand projects were entered in the first World Summit Award. As a result of these awards, New Zealand gained international visibility in the e-Health & Environment sector with the Mobile Medical Bus and in the e-Culture & Heritage sector with Living Heritage.
